Speech Therapists at Wee Care
Pediatric speech therapy helps children develop the skills they need to communicate effectively. A licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) works one-on-one with your child to improve verbal and non-verbal language, articulation, social communication, and more. Therapy can also help with things like following directions, playing appropriately, and building the social skills that matter so much during early childhood.
At Wee Care, we always use an evidence-based approach. That means every session is grounded in proven techniques and tailored to your child’s unique needs and goals. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, because no two children are alike.
Speech and Language Conditions We Treat
Our speech-language pathologists have experience working with a wide range of pediatric communication needs, including:
- Articulation and phonological disorders
- Expressive and receptive language delays
- Childhood apraxia of speech
- Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related communication challenges
- Fluency disorders, including stuttering
- Pragmatic (social) language difficulties
- Oral motor and feeding disorders
- Auditory processing challenges
- Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
Signs Your Child May Benefit from Speech Therapy
It can be hard to know if your child’s communication is developing on track. If you notice any of the following, it may be time to talk with a speech-language pathologist:
- Limited babbling by 12 months or few words by 18 months
- Difficulty being understood by family members or caregivers
- Trouble following simple directions or responding to their name
- Frustration or behavioral challenges related to communication
- Stuttering or disfluent speech patterns
- Challenges with feeding, chewing, or swallowing
- Difficulty interacting or playing with peers
- Regression or loss of previously acquired language skills
If any of these sound familiar, you are not alone. Early intervention makes a real difference, and we are here to walk alongside your family every step of the way.
What to Expect from Speech Therapy at Wee Care
We know starting therapy can feel like a big step. We want to make it as simple and stress-free as possible for your family.
Evaluation
It all starts with a comprehensive speech and language evaluation. We take the time to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and the goals that matter most to your family. This evaluation gives us a clear picture of where your child is today and helps us build a plan to get them where they need to be.
Individualized Treatment Plan
Based on the evaluation results, your child’s therapist will create an individualized treatment plan with specific, measurable goals. We keep you in the loop at every stage, because we believe that fostering long-term relationships with our families is key to therapeutic success.
Ongoing Therapy and Progress
Sessions are play-based, engaging, and designed to feel like fun for your child. Your therapist will track progress, adjust goals as needed, and keep you updated on every milestone. We always will go the extra mile for our patients.
