Pediatric Occupational Therapy in Savannah
Every child deserves the chance to explore, play, and grow with confidence. When daily tasks like getting dressed, holding a crayon, or eating a meal feel like a struggle, occupational therapy can make all the difference. At Wee Care Pediatric Therapy, our occupational therapists work with children throughout the Greater Savannah area, helping them gain the functional independence they need to thrive in their everyday lives.
We bring therapy to your child’s natural environment because that is where real learning happens. Whether it is your living room floor, the backyard, or a favorite spot at daycare, your child has plenty of room to be themselves and really put their new skills to work!

Occupational Therapy With Wee Care
Occupational therapy helps children develop the fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and visual motor skills they need to function and socialize in their everyday meaningful activities. For kids, those “occupations” include things like playing, learning, eating, dressing, and engaging with the people around them.
A licensed occupational therapist (OT) evaluates your child’s unique strengths and challenges, then creates a plan to help them build the skills they need to be more independent. At Wee Care, we always use an evidence-based approach to therapy, making sure every session is purposeful, engaging, and tailored to your child.

What to Expect from Occupational Therapy at Wee Care
Starting therapy does not have to be overwhelming. We keep things simple so you can focus on what matters most: your child.
1. Comprehensive Evaluation
Everything begins with a thorough occupational therapy evaluation. We take the time to understand your child’s developmental history, observe how they interact with their environment, and identify areas where they could use extra support. We also want to hear from you about the goals that matter most to your family.
2. Individualized Treatment Plan
Your child’s therapist will create a personalized treatment plan with clear, measurable goals. We believe in fostering long-term relationships with our families, so you will always know what we are working on and why. No surprises, just a clear path forward.
3. Engaging, Play-Based Sessions
Therapy at Wee Care is designed to feel like play. Your child will build strength, coordination, and confidence through fun, hands-on activities. Your therapist will track progress, celebrate wins, and adjust the plan as your child grows. We always will go the extra mile for our patients, and that includes not just meeting the client’s needs, but also being a continuing resource for your family.
4. Therapy in Your Child’s Natural Environment
When a child practices zipping their jacket on their own coat, or stacks blocks on their own living room rug, those skills stick. That is the power of therapy in the natural environment. Skills learned in the places your child already lives and plays carry over more quickly into their daily routine.
Our therapists come to you. No stressful car rides to an unfamiliar clinic. No rearranging your family’s schedule around office hours. We meet your child where they are most comfortable and use the toys, tools, and routines that are already part of their world.
Signs Your Child May Benefit from Occupational Therapy
Children develop at their own pace, and it is not always easy to tell when extra support might help. If you notice any of the following, it may be time to connect with a pediatric occupational therapist:
- Difficulty with fine motor tasks like holding a pencil, using scissors, or buttoning clothing
- Trouble with self-care routines such as brushing teeth, getting dressed, or feeding themselves
- Over-sensitivity or under-sensitivity to touch, sound, movement, or textures
- Frequent meltdowns or difficulty managing emotions during transitions or new activities
- Poor balance, coordination, or body awareness compared to peers
- Avoidance of messy play, certain food textures, or hands-on activities
- Challenges keeping up with handwriting or other classroom tasks
- Difficulty with age-appropriate play skills or engaging with other children
If any of these sound familiar, you are not alone. Early intervention can have a lasting impact, and our team is here to support your family every step of the way.
